Assistance for Single Mothers – Website offers a directory of single mother grants that help with rent, utility bills, child care, education, medication, housing, medical bills, and mortgage, among others.
Beauty & Wellness Professionals Scholarship – The Beauty Schools Directory team is awarding $2,500 to a student enrolled in or planning to enroll in an eligible beauty or wellness program. Deadlines are always March 1 and September 1. They award $2500 twice each year, and the scholarship will renew in 2023. Apply here. All students, including DACA recipients, who are pursuing a career in the beauty industry, can apply!
Bonita-Estero Woman’s Club “Woman in Transition” Scholarship – The Bonita-Estero Woman’s Club (BEWC), a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, is dedicated to improving the lives of others in Lee County, Florida. In its first year in the Federation, the Club engaged in fundraisers to give back to the community. Now they seek to offer scholarships, following the Federation’s long history in support of education. Each year, they seek to make a difference by awarding a vocational scholarship to a woman who is seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce. The recipient must reside in Lee County, Florida, and be currently enrolled in or accepted into an accredited Florida Technical/Vocational School. The application packet can be submitted electronically through email or sent in first-class mail. ***Please note: this scholarship can only be applied to a student’s tuition and fees. If your tuition and fees are covered by other funding sources, the scholarship money must be returned to the Woman’s Club; it cannot be disbursed to the student.

Dewalt Trades Scholarship – Stanley Black & Decker has established the DEWALT Trades Scholarship to assist individuals attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school who are pursuing a trade degree/certificate in an industry aligned with the Stanley Black & Decker Trade Goals – including but are not limited to Construction, Industrial, Motor/Power Sector, Mechanics, and Technology. This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Joshua L’Heureux Culinary Scholarship – Joshua L’Heureux planned on attending the Commercial Foods & Culinary Arts program. Sadly, he never got that opportunity. On March 14, 2016, Joshua, 22, was killed instantly in a motorcycle accident. His family has raised money for this scholarship that will help Culinary Arts students with tuition, books, or uniforms.
Mechanical One Scholarship – This scholarship is open to students pursuing a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R), Plumbing, Electricity, or related program. Students can earn a $2,500 scholarship by submitting a 1500-minimum word essay answering this year’s query found on the website. The submission deadline is Monday, October 16, 2023. Pro-Tec Scholarship – Pursue Your Educational Goals with Our Plumbing and HVAC Scholarships! At Pro-Tec Plumbing & Air, we take pride in our commitment to develop our local community and the families we serve. As plumbing and HVAC technicians, we realize that we are fortunate to have received education and training that allows us to pursue a lifelong, fulfilling, and challenging career. We are excited that we are now able to pay forward our good fortune to the next generation of individuals wishing to enter these rewarding fields by offering a scholarship for plumbing or HVAC students. We are now accepting applications for these scholarships. These scholarships are open to all Plumbing and HVAC students planning to attend or are currently attending Fort Myers Technical College.
Whiskey Creek Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club Scholarship – This scholarship is open to any grade 12 or post-secondary student who is a resident of Lee County, Florida and is planning to study or is currently enrolled in a trades or apprenticeship program. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2023.

Internal Scholarship Opportunities
American Veterans Scholarship – This scholarship was donated to FMTC from an anonymous community member with the specific intention of supporting veterans, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. This community member also had a soft spot for those pursuing careers in the carpentry, plumbing, and electricity fields. Please complete an application, and the Scholarship Committee will review your qualifications.
Carol L. Heier Scholarship – Carol L. Heier was a former LPN student at FMTC while she was in her 50’s. Ms. Heier wanted to give back to the nursing community that she loved so much. Ms. Heier set up the Carol L. Heier Scholarship to provide financial assistance to students 50 years of age and older who are currently in any of the Health Science programs. Please come to the financial aid office for an application.
Edwin and Jeanette May Foundation Scholarship – The Edwin and Jeanette May Foundation is committed to ensuring students who may fall on hard times in the middle of a program are able to see their dreams come to fruition. Current students with a grade average of 75% and above (80% for Health Sciences), an attendance percentage above 90%, and a clean discipline record should complete the FMTC Scholarship Application HERE. Those who qualify could earn an amount equal to the cost of their final payment period. There are also funds available to assist students who need extra money for food, gas, or vehicle repairs.
Fort Myers Rod and Gun Club, Inc. – The Fort Myers Rod and Gun Club, Inc. originally formed in 1955 as a Non-Profit Sportsmen’s Club Corporation. This corporation is dedicated to social and educational means, the conservation and propagation of the fish, game, and wildlife of the State of Florida and throughout the United States of America, and to those who hunt and fish in a lawful and legal manner. We feel that FMTC is a great way to start a career and would like to help support individuals entering the skilled trades workplace. Please complete the FMTC Scholarship Application and submit it to the front office in Building C to apply.
FMTC Merit Scholarship – Are you ineligible for federal financial aid but still need help paying for school? FMTC’s Scholarship Committee will review your application to see if we can help! We are committed to helping all students succeed.
Indian Creek Scholarship – The residents of Indian Creek RV Resort have supported FMTC students for many years. This scholarship is open to students in all programs. Candidates are selected by the FMTC Scholarship Committee once an application is submitted.
Korean War Veterans Chapter 155 Southwest Florida Scholarship – Applicants of this scholarship must be honorably discharged veterans or children/grandchildren of a veteran. They must reside in southwest Florida and agree to have their name, address, and demographic information provided to the chapter upon receipt of the scholarship. This scholarship is open to students in all programs.
Richard Karnes Trust Scholarship – This scholarship is open to students in all programs who have an EFC less than 8,000 (per the FAFSA). Current FMTC students must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress standards and may only receive one scholarship during their tenure at FMTC. The $250 scholarship can be used to cover industry certification fees, books, tools, uniforms, lab fees, and drug testing/fingerprint screening fees for nursing students.
Sharon M. Till Scholarship – This scholarship is open to Practical Nursing students who successfully complete the program and demonstrate a passion for the nursing field. They must have outstanding attendance and demonstrate a financial need that is not covered by other funding sources. See a financial aid specialist for additional details.
Southwest Florida Community Foundation – Nursing Assistant students can apply for this scholarship. Please reach out to a financial aid specialist for details regarding the fees this scholarship will cover.
Vietnam Brotherhood Scholarship – Applications for this scholarship will be distributed to all veteran students on campus. The FMTC Scholarship Committee will select the final candidates.
Women’s Legacy Scholarship – Practical Nursing students can apply for this scholarship to cover Prometric Exams and other fees in the PN program.
Internal scholarships are awarded to students with a demonstrated need and are granted based on funding availability. The scholarship may only be applied to one enrollment term. Eligible students can reapply for the scholarship, in each subsequent term of enrollment, for the duration of one program. Completed applications are to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office for approval. Completing the FAFSA is a requirement for the majority of internal scholarships. Please note that federal financial aid must be applied to tuition and fees first before any internal or external scholarships are applied.
