***APRIL 26, 2021 UPDATE ON GRADUATION: The following message was emailed and snail-mailed to our graduates from 2019 and 2020 (excluding Health Science) Monday, April 26, 2021:
Dear Fort Myers Technical College 2019-2020 Graduate:
We hope that this letter finds you well and thriving. Each spring, for almost 50 years, we have been privileged to host a commencement ceremony for our students. The Global Pandemic has caused all of us many disruptions, and this year, similar to last year, we have been unable to reserve a location to hold the ceremony due to COVID-19 protocols. We refuse to have your accomplishment go unrecognized, though, so we have an alternate plan.
On Friday, May 14th, 2021, we will have a professional photographer here on campus ready to take your photo in a cap and gown. We will be providing each participating student, free of charge, a commemorative packet of photos along with a personalized, engraved plaque, ready to display your picture proudly in your home. We know that this cannot take the place of the large celebration we wish we could offer, but please accept this as a token of our pride in your achievement and our confidence in your future.
If you wish to participate in a photography session, there is no need to RSVP. Simply stop by* between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on May 14th. The photographer will be located in the cafeteria. We will have caps, gowns, and tassels to loan you for the photo session so there is no need to bring your own. We only have the photographer for a single day, but you may come in at your convenience between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. only. We will contact you again once we have both photos and the plaques in hand, ready to distribute.
If you have any questions, please email FMTCAdmissions@leeschools.net.
Your FMTC Family
