Ever need a plumber? Who hasn’t at one time or another. Become a trained professional in this always in-demand and well-paying field. Learn plumbing techniques for construction or industrial applications. Assess, estimate, and repair a wide range of plumbing problems while experiencing quality customer service. This program prepares students for National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification.
The Plumbing program is a combination of classroom instruction and shop experiences using state-of-the-art equipment with emphasis on the working skills students must master to become residential, commercial, and industrial plumbers.
Classroom and practical experiences concerned with all phases of assembly, installation, and repair of pipes, fixtures, and fittings used for water distribution and waste disposal in residences, public, and industrial buildings according to local plumbing codes are provided.
Emphasis is placed on safety; use of tools and equipment; installation and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures for residential plumbing; and installation and repair of water and drainage systems according to plumbing codes. Also covered are interpretation of schedules and specifications for installation of water supply networks and sewage and waste drainage.
Laboratory activities are an integral part of this program. The tools, equipment, materials, and processes used in this laboratory are similar to those used in industry.
