Email documents atrenatof@leeschools.net This helps us determine the most appropriate path for each student.

Specialized Career Instruction (SCI) Path:

  • This path is for students who may need more academic support, typically those with an IQ of 70 or below or those who are unsure of which program to enroll in.
  • In the SCI Program, students will have the opportunity to shadow various programs and select the best option to continue their studies. The scholarship covers this exploration phase.
  • Students who qualify for this path will receive an email from me with a link to apply for the SCI Program. The first Monday of March will be followed by an interview to ensure the best fit. The SCI-C cohort is for the Fall only.

Direct Program Enrollment Path:

  • This path is for students with higher IQs (below 78), those who have shown better academic progress, or those with prior experience in the program they’re applying to.
  • For example, students with prior coursework in automotive mechanics, culinary arts, or related fields may qualify.
  • These students can apply directly to Fort Myers Technical College (FMTC) admissions through this link: https://fortmyerstech.edu/future-students/admissions/.We take great care in placing students in the most suitable program to ensure their success. Please note that students who fail to complete a program would not be eligible to apply for the HIRE Scholarship again.
