Web Application Development & Programming

Have you ever wondered how those innovative, flashy websites are created? Train for a web career at FMTC where you will stop wondering and start creating. Discover the interesting ways of manipulating graphics, master the valuable skills of PHP and MySQL, create mobile apps for the iOS and Android platforms. Learn how to market your skills in a variety of venues such as Google Play and Apple iTunes. While learning these skills, you will work on real-world client projects. There is no limit to the opportunities that will open up with web and mobile app development skills. Students are prepared to earn Microsoft and Adobe certifications with free practice exams and certification testing.

Web Application Development & Programming is designed to prepare students for employment as a computer programmer assistant, computer programmer, or web programmer.

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in Web application development positions. The content includes skills related to developing n-tier, data-driven Web applications, as well as application development for mobile devices (Android & iOS).

This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the Web application development industry: planning; management; finance; technical and production skills; underlying principles of technology; and labor, community, health, safety, and environmental issues.

Steps to Enroll

  1. Attend an Information Session (Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. [when school is in session])
  2. Meet with a counselor
  3. Take the TABE test, if applicable
  4. Obtain official transcripts, if applicable (high school, GED, college, etc.)
  5. Apply for financial aid (official transcripts required)
  6. Provide appropriate residency documents
  7. Complete application packet with counselor
  8. Pay application fee
