Brian Mangan, Director

Mr. Mangan was appointed as Director of Fort Myers Technical College on July 1, 2016. He was previously the Director of Cape Coral Technical College.

Assistant Director of Operations/Finance

Mr. McDaniel was appointed Assistant Director of School Operations and Finance at Fort Myers Technical College in July of 2014. Prior to coming to FMTC, he worked as an administrator at Cape Coral Technical College and Mariner High School, and as a grant specialist and automotive teacher at East Lee County High School. Mr. McDaniel is a proud alumnus of Fort Myers Technical College, where he completed the Automotive Service Technology program.

Mr. McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art from Florida State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from American College of Education.

Dr. Brian Byrnes
Assistant Director for Curriculum

Dr. Byrnes was appointed as Assistant Director for Curriculum for Fort Myers Technical College in July 2014. He came to Lee County schools in March of 2008 as an Exceptional Student teacher for Bonita Springs Middle School. He joined the staff at FMTC in March of 2011 and has served as Department Chair for the developmental education programs offered in the student learning center. In 2013, Dr. Byrnes was named Lee County Teacher of the Year for Career and Technical Education.

Before coming to the Lee County School District, Dr. Byrnes taught for ten years in New York City high schools. The majority of his time was devoted to teaching in a career and technical high school.

Dr. Byrnes received his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in 2012, an Educational Specialist degree from Argosy University, a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from the City University of New York, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies from St. John’s University.
